GreenCOM is a multidisciplinary project developing technologies for green, energy-efficient communication infrastructures, spanning nanophotonics, novel fibers, optical satellite links, 5G control systems, and IoT security. It addresses the full network spectrum—from local access to core backbone networks and data centers—while supporting the entire value chain from innovation to end-users.

The project focuses on five key themes: energy efficiency, high capacity, universal accessibility, critical low-latency networks, and secure green services. By tackling these themes in an integrated way, GreenCOM ensures holistic optimization across the communication stack, structured through 10 work packages and 31 tasks.
